About Us

Located conveniently in the thriving center of Subang Jaya, Fairview International School Subang Jaya (FISJ) is an International Baccalaureate World School that is authorised to conduct the IB continuum from Primary Years Programme (PYP) to the Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are one of five Fairview campuses located all over Malaysia.

Established in 2010, FISJ has established a good reputation for academic excellence. In FISJ, our biggest asset is our students, as such we continuously seek to create learning opportunities for all. With the dedication of our very qualified teachers, we are able to offer inclusive IB programmes that promote continuous learning both in and out of the classroom for all students. We do understand that students need more than academic skills to succeed. Therefore we adhere to our school vision of developing adaptable, lifelong learners, active citizens, effective contributors, resilient interviews, independent inquirers and creative thinkers.

With a range of facilities available, FISJ is a community school with a family foundation. All that we strive to achieve in FISJ is done with a passion and with heart. We are proud of our results and have seen more than 150 students graduate since 2010. Many of them have since gone on to graduate from the Diploma programme and obtained university places of their choice.

Fairview's History

Dedicated to providing premier yet affordable education, Fairview International School was established in 1978 for parents seeking a more enriching and comprehensive form of learning. From its humble beginnings and only a handful of students, Fairview International School is now home to well over 2,000 students in four IB World Schools across Malaysia, representing over 65 different nations.

Established in 1978, Fairview was founded by a group of like-minded parents seeking greater educational opportunities for their children. Despite the schools many achievements, Fairview lacked one thing – a true home. Until 2009 the students and staff of the Kuala Lumpur campus had been uprooted several times from one location to another, for various reasons.

Since then, Fairview has grown in leaps and bounds, reaching a significant milestone of 35 years in 2014. More importantly, Fairview has inspired the minds of thousands of students over the years; students who not only achieve outstanding academic results but are nurtured socially, emotionally and physically. Our students leave the halls of Fairview as internationally minded global citizens, equipped with essential skills for the many challenges of the 21st century.

Fairview International School is the only IB World School in Malaysia to offer the continuum of IB programmes; the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).

Message from Principal

Dear Parents and Students.

Welcome to Fairview International School Subang. I must first express my excitement at returning as the Principal of this evolving school. The Fairview Network of schools have been evolving throughout the years as one of the most vibrant and pedagogically sound institutions in Malaysia attracting educators from around the globe. Every addition to our fold only strengthens our collective knowledge and skill to ensure the best is given to our students. Subang campus is well known among the network as a campus with a strong academic focus leading with a good sport following where we have participated and won games with other international Schools. This holistic approach to children development is and always have been the very heart of the International Baccalaureate philosophy, where Fairview International School is the only network of schools that is authorized in all three Programs of the Primary Years Program, Middle Years Program and Diploma Program in Malaysia.

Through out the year Subang has undergone a phenomenal overhaul to ensure our students have the best facilities that Fairview has to offer. From the new sensor urinals to restructuring of the classrooms and facility rooms like the dance rooms and rock climbing wall, the Subang campus is certainly coming alive more than ever to rival any institutions around the region. Do keep posted for future developments that are constantly being planned like our soon to be new Middle Year School Library. Subang has always been about teaching methodologies and thus is inline with the International Baccalaureate philosophy with our non – stop Professional development trainings that occur on a weekly basis. This is proven to be more than 90% of institutions around the region to ensure that our teachers are equipped with the latest best practices that are recognized to be proven effective in classrooms.

Every year, our students go on International Expeditions which are one of a kind in the world ensuring that learning is taken from the classrooms into the real world complete with assessments to ensure that learning has taken place. From Cambodia to China, children will be expected to learn and contribute back into the community which is in line with service learning that is a major part of the International Baccalaureate philosophy.

We are always happy to hear from you and would look forward to more engagements and thank all our existing parents for the privilege of educating our amazing students with talents that range from Operatic singing to diverse skills that never cease to amaze me which have won first places in our annual “Fairview Got Talent” programs that highlight how far our children have come. To our students that have yet to be apart of our Fairview family, we look forward to meeting you soon.

Ms. Tee Siok Hoon

Principal of Fairview International School, Subang Jaya
